About the Faculty: 

Professor Naresh Tandon obtained his B.Tech. (Mechanical Engg.) degree from Institute of Technology, BHU (1976) and PhD from IIT Delhi in 1991, specialising in noise & vibrations. He has more than 35 years of experience of working on research and industrial consultancy projects & teaching in the area of noise engineering and vibration monitoring. Vibration and noise monitoring of bearings and gears are of special interest. He has published more than 100 papers in journals and conferences in his field. These papers are well cited by researchers in the area of vibration and noise monitoring with more than 2000 citations as per google scholar. He has also published a book and contributed chapters in two books. Prof. Tandon received British Council and NORAD (Norway) Fellowships. He has received training and worked/visited universities in Norway, UK, France, Denmark, Sweden, Australia, Singapore and Thailand. He is a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Institution of Engineers (India) and Acoustical Society of India (ASI). Prof. Tandon is also a Life Member of Condition Monitoring Society of India. He was awarded Sir C.V. Raman award for best paper (1994) and Prof. S. Bhagavantam award for outstanding contribution and leadership provided in the field of Acoustics (2015) by ASI. Prof. Tandon delivered 15th Dr. S.P. Luthra Memorial Lecture in 2008. He has also served as a member of the National Committee on Noise Pollution Control, Central Pollution Control Board, Ministry of Environment & Forests.
